Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2 8000 2GB Kit Review!
Posted on Sep 09, 2006 - 4:33 PM
"Obviously there are better 2 gig kits on the market with tighter timings, but in this price range the memory is spot on with the crucial being nearly a whole 1/3 cheaper than the lower latency modules. That for me despite the lower timings of the pricier kits makes this kit ideal for those that want speed but are on a tighter budget."

VisionTek Radeon X1600XT AGP Review!
Posted on Sep 09, 2006 - 4:29 PM
"While the design of these passively-cooled videocards was quite impressive, their performance failed to impress. Given the price point at the time, I felt the X1600XT did not offer the user enough in the way of performance to justify the cost ($200 at introduction). As some of you may recall, when the Radeon X1600XT was unveiled there was already a lot of competition from NVIDIA in the same market segment. Therefore, I felt it was very important for ATI to impact the market with the X1600XT, which they failed to do."

Razer Barracuda Headphones Review!
Posted on Sep 09, 2006 - 4:28 PM
"Razer is known for making gaming products, more specifically mice, so going into the audio market is a new venture for them. They start off this new venture with 2 products; the AC-1 sound card and the HP-1 gaming headphones. We are going to be taking a look at the HP-1 headphones today. These headphones feature eight discrete audio drivers, a built-in microphone and a 99% oxygen-free cable. Let's see if these headphones can compete with the other popular gaming headphones out there and Razer can make a name for themselves in the audio market."

Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard Review!
Posted on Sep 09, 2006 - 4:24 PM
"There have been a few big names in the PC peripheral game for quite a while now. When we think of I/O devices, mice, keyboards and game controllers come to mind more often than not. While keeping with the I/O theme, we just do happen to have the new Saitek Eclipse II keyboard lying around the Techgage office and I’m the one who gets to take it for a spin.

While Saitek was founded in 1979, they entered the gaming market in 1993. Since that time, they have grown into one of the better PC gaming peripheral manufacturers around. Working with gamers to better their products, they have produced products that have been praised by gamers and wanted by all."

Biostar TForce P965 Deluxe Review!
Posted on Sep 09, 2006 - 4:22 PM
"Biostar has been a long time player in the motherboard market, more known for their mainstream oriented motherboards in the vein of Chaintech, ASRock or ECS. However, that doesn't mean that Biostar motherboards are not tailored to suit more demanding computing needs. It has been quite a while since we've taken a look at a Biostar motherboard, but their latest TForce series motherboard based on the Intel P965 chipset looks like a very interesting offering and we couldn't pass up the chance to take a first hand look."

Overlocking The Radeon X1950XTX!
Posted on Sep 06, 2006 - 5:21 PM
"By pairing the new X1950XTX with ATI's previous flagship X1900XTX in a Crossfire setup, he has managed to score almost 82,000 points in 3DMark 2001 SE. And that's just using the stock air cooling. The X1950XTX was pumped up to 681/1143 MHz (GPU/MEM) and the X1900XTX to 681/870 MHz to reach a final score of 81,779 points."

Apack Zerotherm BTF80 Aluminum Heatpipe Intel/AMD Cooler Review!
Posted on Sep 06, 2006 - 2:12 AM
"Having previously reviewed Apack's ZEROtherm BTF-90, I expected good performance from their BTF-80 cooler as well. I wasn't disappointed. While it is much lighter than the copper BTF-90, it's no lightweight when it comes to performance. It is also relatively quiet and the red LEDs reflecting off of the aluminum fins give it a distinctive look."

Sparkle Calibre P790+ 512 MB SLI Review!
Posted on Sep 05, 2006 - 7:26 PM
"Sparkle offers the Calibre series of cards. It features a new and very silent cooler, nice blue colored PCB, faster clocks for core and memory and to top it off, that 512 MB of memory. It has all the functions and specifications as mentioned, yet since this is the SPP790+ model again we have slightly higher than usual core and memory speeds. The graphics core is clocked at an impressive 560 MHz (vs. 450MHz standard) and that gDDR3 memory is running at 1400MHz (vs. 1320MHz)."
